Audio - Grandparents came from Nova Scotia in 1911. Grandfather and neighbours built church and school in South Athabasca. Wilma’s Uncle Sim worked at the telephone office. Uncle Ray managed the Union Hotel. Mother taught school before she married. Talks about growing up in Athabasca, school, and social activities. Joined the air force, was a telegraph operator for about two years during the war. Moved to Wales, where husband got a job teaching after the war. After five years they moved to Vancouver. Wilma got her degree in education |
