Audio - Born in India. Received BA and Diploma in Social Work. Talks about growing up, going to school, church, music. Learned to play violin at 6 years of age. Father owned a coffee estate. Sister joined a convent. Talks about arranged marriages. Married Charles in 1957. Charles worked in law, Rita in teaching. Immigrated to Canada in 1966 to start their teaching career. First time seeing snow. Taught school for 30 years. Was involved in the Athabasca Country Fringe Festival and live arts. Also was on the school board, a university facilitator, and a liaison between the University and Alberta School Board Association |
