Painting commissioned in 1970 by the Royal Alexandra Hospital for the maternity ward. Prepared on untempered masonite with acrylic paint. Because of the traffic in the hospital, Ilda had to work during the night for two months.
Silver Latvian "seven day ring" owned by Ilda Lubane of Edmonton, Alberta. The seven day ring has a Latvian symbol on each tassel; the most common of these used is the Jumis symbol. The same symbols are common motifs in weaving and knitting.
