A cost- benefit analysis by a highly reputable, independent firm says a $ 13.1 million plan to raise the level of Buffalo Lake would deliver only $ 11 million in economic benefits, all of which would accrue to nearby property owners, including Premier Don Getty. If the government chooses to go ahead with this dubious project at a net loss of $ 2 million while cutting back allocations to hospitals and schools, the people of Alberta will have a crystal clear picture of its true priorities.
