In the twilight days of winter, herds of shaggy-coated muskox dig for the ground-hugging plants that mean their survival in the sub-zero cold. But the country of the muskox in summer is a land rich in colour and light, and teeming with life. In this land of immense spaces and solitudes, rutting bulls roar their challenge and clash head-on with rivals, polar bears come on land, wolf cubs play by their den, and herds of arctic hare feed in the grassy lowlands.
