Daugavas Vanagi was formed in 1945 in Belgium to support displaced Latvian's and their families. Support network for displaced Latvian military personnel scattered across Europe. Daugavas Vanagi (1945) and the Imanata Association (1947) belong to the Latvian National Federation of Canada. They are also supported by the Canadian Baltic Federation. Daugavas Vanagi has two major goals: to keep the Latvian culture alive and to connect with and aid their homeland.
