Notes - Ms. Kathy Pickett writes of the creation of the Athabasca School District from the community created one-room school houses to the system currently in place (1992). Names of school inspectors and superintendents are listed along with the names of the towns that they were responsible for. A list of necessities needed to organize a new school district written by W. H. Swift (the inspector for Athabasca from 1930 to 1935) is given. This is a thorough history of many of the school districts in the area (5 pages) |
