Question time came a n d they asked why ahe spoke in t h a t vein when they h a d n ' t h a d a crop in asven years. Nor h a d they t h e money to pool together to buy vegetables. Help? Send us a nurse they urged, a n d so rural organization was begun to supply district nurses. Miss Noble's talk was a gay r e m e m b r a n c e of anecdote in t h e early days. She also cited distress cases where t h e W I helped as neighbors.
